[Patch 6.1] Marriage System Modifications
Wartune Patch 6.1 brings some big additions and modifications to the Marriage System! New materials are required to upgrade to greater heights and obtain new marriage skills for you and your spouse!
Gameplay Info
Some notes from the publisher about marriage system optimizations.
Marriage Process Optimization
After reaching Lvl. 80 you will automatically accept the “Marriage” quest. (This does not mean you’re automatically married. It just means you’ll clear the quest without having been married. You still have to at least propose to be a couple with wedding rings)
After a successful proposal, you will receive Rose Hazel x1 and Eternal Heart x1 as a reward.
The old way of proposing is still valid. You can also party up with your S.O. and visit NPC Andrew to be united. The party leader should propose using a wedding ring. You’re automatically married once you propose successfully. You do not need to hold a wedding ceremony and directly use the marriage system. Players who are engaged in the old patch will be automatically married when the new patch is updated.
Redefining Marriage Process
Weddings are not compulsory any more. Couples may choose not to hold a wedding. After you successfully propose, you will enjoy a discount if you hold a wedding within 72 hours. (Remarried couples also enjoy this time-limited discount.) When your wedding starts, the system will automatically invite all your online friends to attend. The rose petal effect and fireworks have been removed from weddings in the new patch.
Satisfaction and Happiness: Attribute and BR Boost
Once you’re married, you can click the Wedding Ring in your Inventory to train your Wedding Ring and improve Satisfaction.
You can use Rose Hazels to improve Satisfaction and obtain Defense, Intellect, Endurance and Strength bonuses for you and your spouse.
When both your and your spouse’s Satisfaction are Lvl. 9, Satisfaction will automatically advance to Happiness. You can use Vow Marks to upgrade Happiness (max lvl. 30) and obtain more attribute bonus.
Satisfaction/Happiness will be based on the lowest level of you and your spouse’s Satisfaction/Happiness. For instance, if your Satisfaction is Lvl. 10 and your spouse’s is Lvl. 5, then both of you will have a Lvl. 5 Satisfaction bonus. You can spend 100 Balens to help increase your spouse’s Satisfaction or Happiness by 200, up to 5 times a day.
In the Wedding Ring panel, you can use Eternal Hearts (or Balens) to craft Wedding Rings. “Star & Crescent” is a default wedding ring skill. This skill can help a couple restore HP during a battle and remove negative effects. This skill will be improved as Wedding Ring level increases.
Wedding Rings will automatically advance to a higher stage upon reaching Lvl. 9. Afterwards, you can use Love Forever to advance train the Wedding Ring. Once the Wedding Ring reaches Lvl. 10, a new marriage skill will be activated. Following that, for each level advanced, one marriage skill will be activated. When all marriage skills are activated, marriage skill levels will increase in order as the Wedding Ring level increases.
Divorced players can continue to train their wedding ring and upgrade their Satisfaction/Happiness, but without a spouse they won’t be able to use marriage skills, and won’t have satisfaction/happiness stat bonuses until re-married. Divorce costs are the same as they were before the patch.
Marriage Tree: Marriage Material Source
Marriage Tree Watering: Based on Marriage Tree level, every day that you cultivate your Marriage Tree you will receive materials used to improve satisfaction and craft wedding rings. The higher the Marriage Tree level, the more it yields. You and your spouse need to cultivate each of your Marriage Trees respectively. Your Marriage Tree may require weeding and exterminating pests every hour. You and your spouse need to do this for each other so that you can help increase each other’s Marriage Tree EXP. You may use Gold (Balens) to water your Marriage Tree 5 times a day. (Gold 5 times + Balens 5 times)
Marriage Tree Cultivation: You may use items to fill your tree’s status value. When status value is 1,000, you will directly receive yields for the corresponding tree level. After receiving yields, you need to wait 12 hours before you can cultivate the Marriage Tree again.

Does this mean that balens are no longer required to be married?
Correct, just need the engagement ring which you can get with nickels
wrong
Any chance you could add some clarifications as to whether how I understand the post as listed below is correct since some of the wording seems a little vague to me and I feel I may have misunderstood something.
The way I read the blog post is that marriage is automatic as soon as a proposal is accepted and that purchasing a wedding is completely optional, presumably for the items they give and to give your friends a temporary buff, maybe holding just before events for example.
For getting engaged I read the above as being 3 options
Option 1 is to reach level 80 and you get a marriage quest, use that to propose to someone (I read as it being without any ring)
Option 2 is to use the old way of getting an engagement ring and proposing at which point you will be automatically married, presumably for those that haven’t reached level 80 yet.
Option 3 is to create a party of the 2 of you and visit Andrew with the leader to propose with a wedding ring, (I assume you mean engagement ring though). Basically option 2 but partying up and going via Andrew rather than giving the ring directly.
Option 1 would seem to be completely free, option 2 and 3 requiring an engagement ring which cn be purchased for 700 nickels currently, although it would be useful to know whether that is still the case or whether we should buy one now.
It is possible I’ve misunderstood what you wrote however and getting married is not actually a free option available to anyone but I don’t see anything which suggest that you need balens since you explicitly mention you don’t need a wedding to count as being married.
A lot of this wording is from the information they provided to us. I can try to go in and clarify it from what I’ve seen on the test server. I can’t respond to all your options and whatnot, but what I know:
1) When they say level 80 accepting the marriage quest, they just mean that you’ll complete the main marriage quest in the quest tracking section without having purchased a wedding. It doesn’t mean that you’re actually married.
2) You still have get engaged and married the same way as before (Edit 2: slightly inaccurate, see below)
3) You maintain your ring and satisfaction/happiness levels even after you’re divorced
4) While you’re divorced, you can still level up your satisfaction/happiness, you just won’t get any stat gains or be able to use marriage skills until you’re re-married.
Hope this helps clear things up
Edit: let me test some stuff. I might be wrong about needing to pay for a marriage
Edit 2: Okay so I divorced the two toons that I showed in the video and then re-proposed, and it didn’t require any wedding ceremony to re-activate the rings, so I think basically now you only have to propose to each other to be married, and the ceremonies just provide materials, and potential gifts from other people/items thrown around the wedding hall.
Thanks, the level 80 quests seems kind of redundant, kind of like a quest offering 1 advanced henna when you do an advanced henna tattoo that turns up after you reach knighthood.
The quest seemed so pointless appearing at level 80 if all it did was give such a pointless reward that I assumed that part of it was bypassing the need for a ring and that clicking it would give the option to propose to someone without the need for a ring first in order to try and get everyone at level 80 to marry and that the ring requirement would therefore only apply to those wanting to marry sooner.
I hope balens doesn’t need when proposing married.
You’ll still need one person with an engagement ring which costs balens or can be exchanged for with nickels.
The marriage quest at level 80 seems kind of redundant if it doesn’t avoid the need for an engagement ring which is why my earlier comment made the assumption that the quest probably let you avoid that need.
I would expect most people to get married as soon as they have the 700 nickels to get the ring and not wait until they are level 80, especially for such a crappy reward that I suspect they get anyway if they are already married when they reach 80.
Surely it would make more sense to have the quest as soon as marriage is available if it doesn’t do anything other than give a crappy reward rather than waiting for level 80.
You’ll clear the quest if you get married before level 80. It’s just cleared at level 80 if you’re not married then. It doesn’t automatically marry you once at level 80.
Like I said the wording is vague, I acknowledge the bit in question came directly from the publisher, doesn’t surprise me at it being misleading.
So the quest turns up presumably at level 36 or whatever it is that marriage becomes available and automatically completes at level 80 if you aren’t married by then or sooner if you are.
I seriously don’t see why they even bothered mentioning that first as if it was some big thing, especially saying you automatically accept the quest rather than calling it completing the quest.
I know you didn’t write it but that marriage optimisation note from the publisher just doesn’t stop bugging me since it seems so illogical if that quest doesn’t count in some some way as a proposal at level 80.
If that auto accept thing really is that a quest to get married and get a useless reward that you get at some earlier point auto completes at 80 without having to get married then why give it such prominence. you would have to be completely obsessed about completing all quests for you to think that deserves such prominence and it could definitely be worded better so that it actually says what it means.
The fact it is followed by saying the old way of proposing still works definitely makes it sound as if that quest in some way counts as a proposal once you reach level 80, especially when it says you accept the quest rather than completed, finished or are ignoring it and taking the reward anyway. If you accept a quest then that implies you are going to do it, not that you are going to ignore it and mark it as complete anyway.
Shouldn’t they tell us what the new proposal system is before telling us we can still do it the old way rather than preceding it with something completely irrelevant that sounds like it may be a way of getting engaged. As far as I can see they don’t tell us the new way, if it is going via Andrew then why is that included as a ‘you can also’ as though it is a further option rather than being the new way, it seems to me that going via Andrew would be more convoluted anyway than the old way of proposing.
I figure I should spell out exactly what my interpretation of the publishers note was so you may see why it is bugging me.
My interpretation of the publishers note is that they want everyone to marry so on reaching level 80 they give a quest that would allow anyone to propose to someone without the requirement to get a ring or wedding, if you have married before then then the quest would automatically turn green, if you haven’t you would click it, you would then choose someone to propose to and if they accept it then turns green.
That would seems perfectly consistent with the following statement about the old way of proposing still working and makes sense for the publishers to allow all players to catch up on the older stuff since it pushes cashers to spend on the new things to stay ahead.
I don’t have access to the test server so I don’t know whether that quest turn up earlier and then goes green at level 80 which Eliatans replies seem to suggest, if it does then the note is incredibly bad wording in my opinion and gives undue prominence to such a minor detail, especially since the quest doesn’t currently exist and so it’s not like they have had tons of complaints from people saying they can’t complete all quests.
If the quest only turns up at level 80 (Eliatan didn’t explicitly say it turned up earlier, I interpreted the reply to suggest that) I do wonder if my interpretation may actually be correct and Eliatan happened to already be married and so it turned green straight away.
does the quest only show up once? so when i want to marry an other play, can this only be done with balance or can there the quest also be used?
The quest is totally inconsequential. People shouldn’t worry about it lol.
So, i buy a Engagement Ring before patch, i ask pair… We are Engage. After patch we are married? (non casher)
i wan to know this too…
any1 tried?
I suspect you’ll automatically be married after the patch. There’s a limited amount of time you can be engaged and not married in the current version though. I don’t really know why you’d want to be engaged but not be married. If you’re thinking about it, I’d just wait until the patch is out.
I have a question, I’m married and we had a lvl 2 wedding so, we got the clothes as apart of the wedding package. If I divorce after 6.1 rolls out, will I be able to keep the clothing or will the vanish?
You’ll keep it. That applies to before that patch also.
Thank you for the video Eliatan. I just need to know how and where you stocked up on heart shards and rose hazel? What is a good source to obtain these or did you just buy a lot with balens?
Dims
So after the patch, if I get an Engagement Ring with Nickle, no balens are required to marry? Thus making getting married free in the game?
If I get married after patch, is the ceremony still optional? If I choose not to do ceremony, will I still be married?
