Poll Results – First impression of Wartune Patch 8.6 and FOOKUPS discussion
Hey everyone, in this article I share poll results on Wartune Patch 8.6 and discussion on FOOKUPS. Although the poll is still active, there are already over 100 votes within 24 hours, so I decided to make a post about it. The poll question simply was: “What is your first impression of Wartune Patch 8.6?“.
The poll‘s answer options were very simple:
- GOOD
- BAD
Within the first 24 hours 104 players voted. The results so far are:

- 64% of players said “BAD”
- 36% said “GOOD”
How does it compare with the previous poll on Wartune Patch 8.5?
Well, technically it is “better” as “only” 64% were negative compared to 83% in the previous poll. But, any rational person can understand/accept that if the majority of players are unhappy that is not a good result.
So why the repeated bad results? FOOKUPS discussion:
I would argue the main reason remains the continuous unprofessional and uneducated job done by the devs who neither know/understand their own game (Wartune) nor listen to their players / understand their players’ needs / frustrations.
That said, let’s mention some issues specific to Wartune Patch 8.6.
I will offer 3 main reasons and let people post in comments if they wanna mention other points:
- No major fixes to solve lag – a very well known issue. On the contrary, more stuff added usually (as in previous patches) means more lag.
- More stuff added to do without removing any existing daily “to do”, which puts further pressure / higher daily demands on players.
- And the biggest reason I think: a major FOOKUP of the combat system. I am, of course, talking about the new Dragonchant skills. Although I applaud giving lots of choices which theoretically allows for strategy and unique character building, what the Wartune devs did was certainly not that. The new system changes the combat to a casino whereby basically nobody knows what effects are on which players and what is going to happen after pressing any button.
- Random chaos,
- Random amnesia,
- Random rage,
- Random player stats,
- Random player damage,
- Random awakening points or no awakening of sylphs at all.
- Multiple buffs and debuffs on each player.
- Basically a huge mess which most players would never be able to understand.
- So instead of strategy it becomes press a button and hope something good happens.

I am quite disappointed in the changes to Dragonchant. The previous skill sets were quite effective for my strategic style. Now I will need to rethink my whole approach. Not to mention the fact that the new set up is not organized so can can view my whole skill set and effects in “chart” fashion as before. I find myself clicking and scrolling all over the place to review my previous stuff and avoid redundancies. I dare say the dev is bordering on incompetence.
For me it is pretty much common sense-you must have two basic attributes: High Attack and High HP, and that is exactly what has been nerfed-so i said good damn bye to wartunes, sick and tired of all these new patches coming out so fast that only those that play 12 or more hours a day can overcome this, I have a life beyond this computer and daily responsibilities.
FIX the LAG. Cut out some of the old worthless stuff before adding so much new stuff. its making lag worseand we cannot spend all da long playing this game. I have been playing this game from the beginning and its getting very bad. No longer is it such a fun game anymore.
For those of us who have only had the patch for a day, I’ts hard to comment
I love the new DC changes – why? Because I personally despise DC and am happy to see it more reasonable.
The goddess things will take awhile, but Redemption is a no brainer and easy (at least for me and mine)
I do think the game is bloated, but I’m pretty sure what I think should go would be very different from what others say. I’d start with dimms. Cost/Benefit analysis is a loss. Some things others say should go are really necessary for new players, such as sky trail.
Sylph atoll should go, serves little purpose anymore. Should go as an entire area, not just the boss.

ok difference in gem synth, if you use all of a certain type of gem it jumps forward to the next available one. Which is kinda annoying actually. say you make your last lvl 6 res crystal, it may jump to wind crystals, and force you to scroll back to make a lvl 7 crystal (which wasnt available until after you made that…so it also got skipped.

i lost 2.5 milj. br with the new update not good
I lost just under 3 million br and that sucks, It took me a long time to get that. I’m ready to quit with these new patches.

Since they completely changed the Dragonchant skills system (the old ones gave BR) this resulted in the BR decrease.
Will is because of Flash. They have to upgrade to HTML5 this year and that will fix lag.
The loss of BR from less stat passives affects ALL players so not valid feedback. No real advantage or disadvantage.
The extra dailies IS valid feedback. Remove old crap or update it before adding new crap (the new stuff is good though as Goddess can be insanely strong now).
I just want a reliable way for new servers to get talismans. Even just 1 a day. Sell them in shop for bound balens or something.
Lag* is because of Flash
Lag is not because of Flash itself. It is because of the way the game is coded. Flash can be fast and can be extremely slow, all depends on quality of ActionScript code and resource management (do you know that even invisible/unused MovieClip in Flash still uses CPU cycles and other resources if it is improperly handled and garbage collector have no chance to remove the object from memory? – if you’re curious, try Google ‘flash player garbage collection’ or ‘flash player memory management’ and that explains exclamation marks and slow downs after a few battles). Why there are Flash games that are more complex than Wartune but run smoothly? Because these games were coded by devs who knew what they’re doing. Rewriting this game to HTML5 is a huge and expensive task and HTML5 version can be slow as well, because of poorly written code. Anyone ever wondered how many files are needed to render a single battle in Wartune? I did and it is 200-300 just to run a single battle. Do a simple math and you’ll know how much time it will take – for example lag/ping/RTT from you to game server is 50ms, multiplied by 200 files gives 10000ms or 10 seconds. Of corse good caching can help with that. Returning to Flash itself – indeed, versions above Flash 29 are somewhat slower than older ones. My general advice is to downgrade Flash Player to, say, 17 and use additional caching (for example Polipo proxy, but it does not work with HTTPS – no caching in this case) to workaround network-related issues. There’s ‘all in one’ package that does things I talked about – use Google and you’ll find it – use at your own risk. Wow… What a huge comment… 😉
That is actually quite interesting, thank you. So flash is terrible and will be gone in 2020 but good devs could have ‘made the most of it’ while bad devs (like 7road for Wartune) do NOT make the most of it. And the devs of flash itself messed up in recent versions. Ridiculous.
Well it was announced that Wartune is being upgraded to HTML5 in Feb 2019 so should be done before 2020. Hopefully they can at LEAST improve the lag situation a bit.
I mean the devs of this game already STOLE music from Morrowind (city theme) and The Last Remnant (battle theme). They are scum but the game is addictive so here we are, haha.

I have to refresh every 20 minutes cos of lag, arena is unplayable due to the amount of stuns in the game, a 15 second cooldown skill can take 60 seconds, a 45 second delphic takes over 2 minutes if i have not refreshed, battlegrounds are impossible, sometimes i have zero hp showing in a battle, yet the ‘VICTORY’ shows that I have won??? Everything new is balens balens balens… and even the rewards for spending are terible. This game completely sucks. Will stick to Star Trek: Timelines lol
