we don’t have clear facts about it, but yes there was some evidence that people hacked and benefited but also the devs took actions against such people which of course was not communicated publicly
Um yeh they wont publicly talk about a exploit. Once you say there is a exploit in say for example (using a example found in many other games) MP recovery potions cheaters will begin to look for the exploit. Saying these players were banned for x exploit will also lead to others looking for ways to do the same. There is good reasons to never fill in the community about these things.

I can assure you, everything in this game is logged (I mean, EVERYTHING). So, there is a way to find the abusers. Why they hide info? ‘Cause they afraid. If all bugs will become public and become being abused – game will collapse as it is.
My thought, when there is an exploit, devs should do the following:
1. Say loud and clear about it’s existence and possible consequences of abuse.
2. Fix it ASAP.
3. Find the abusers and punish them accordingly.Make the punishment public (a thread on forum, purple “system” messages, etc).
4. Reward the ones who reported the issue, compensate all troubles related to fixing and stuff.

Now as i said but much shorter.
There is no dispute that they can sift through logs to find abusers and yes they are afraid those bugs will be further exploited if they post about them. It comes down to pure simple math. They have to spend many dozens if not 100s of man hours searching logs to find the abusers. Even if they had say 30 or 50 people paid $10 a hour doing it that is many 1000s of $ wasted. It could be enough to actually defund the game and force it to close.
