Video: Red Gear Upgrades (Trinkets + Helm)

Hey you guys, I finally got to doing some more red gear upgrades. The synthesis and enchantment cost is huge (~175M gold) for each of these, so I think most players have a hard time getting enough gold after the holy forge event wiped them out. Even so, I’m glad I had the gold to spare for this, because the battle rating upgrade was very nice 🙂

It’s been awhile since my first red gear upgrading video, and I think I didn’t get everything completely right back then, so I wanted to point out two main points of consideration before going ahead with your red gear upgrades.

Finish Forging or Upgrade ASAP?

I previously thought that you should really forge your legendary gear to level 8 grade 10 before upgrading it to red, but turns out this doesn’t matter much. Once your gear is red, you can still use hammers and stoves to get stars (level 8 grade 10 worth of stars), and then once that’s full, you can move on to getting moons with stithies and clamps.

Refine Good Stats Before Upgrading!

The main thing you should consider before making a piece of equipment red is the quality of its refinements. Once your gear is red it costs 24 Elite Refinement Crystals per refine, and currently these materials are only obtainable through Class Wars and Titan War. I think it’s worth waiting for regular refinement crystals in order to get some nice stats before making things red.

My recommendations for refinements, in order of priority:

1. Intellect/Strength (depending on your class)
2. Defense
3. MATK/PATK (depending on your class)
4. Endurance
5. PDEF/MDEF (sort of depending on your class)
6. Crit/Block

I’m stuck with quite a few Crit refinements, but I didn’t have the crystals to get rid of them. They used to be quite important, but I think these days it’s not nearly as important to get crit from refinements.
