Unlock Conditions

Tattoo Engraving unlocks once players finish the class advancement quest [An Audience with the King II]. This means that you need to level your regular talents to level 179/179 and legendary talents to level 50/50, but do not have to have completed the tattoo requirements for knighthood yet.

  • Players will find 4 engraving slots on the main engraving panel. The first slot on the left unlocks by default. Players need to unlock each of the three slots one by one (from left to right). (Note: The first slot on the left is selected by default when players open the panel.)

  • Engraving different slots consumes different amounts of Tattoo Engraving Stones. Slots that unlock later consume more stones.

  • There are 10 levels. The higher the level, the greater the attribute bonuses (5% per level).

Engraving Rules

  • Players can use corresponding amounts of Tattoo Engraving Stones to randomly get an engraving effect (Strength/Defense/Endurance/Intellect/Charisma)
  • Level may increase, decrease or remain the same after engraving. Engraving attributes appear randomly.
  • After engraving, the system will tell you whether you have succeeded or failed. “Engraved successfully!” means the level has remained the same or has increased. “Engraving failed” means the level has decreased.
Wartune Patch 6.1 Tattoo Engraving Success and Failure
  • Players may use 2000 Balens (Bound Balens excluded) to guarantee a successful engraving. (Elia note: the patch info we received said that this cost was 500 Balens, not 2000, but on the test server it’s listed as 2000 Balens)

  1. Do you know whether the boost to tattoo stats helps with getting knighthood?

I think I’m probably a month away from having 9k+ of tattoo stats, if the boost from engraving counts toward the 9k total then it may be worth me considering using the next adv henna event with the henna I’ve been saving since that will probably get me close enough for a 5% or 10% boost from saving outland crystals to take me over line when the patch comes.

It would mean doing only 100 adv henna rather than 100+50 which gives a bigger return if I wait for the following month. There is probably a big chance of events changing after the patch so the adv henna event may disappear or not be as good so using the next or the last expected one before the patch might make sense anyway.

    • As u can see to open it u need to finish audience for king II – what is quest for KN so only KN get it,atleast so it seems.

      • Wrong… you do not need KH, you need to max your talents. This will make it easier for people to get KH.

    • The KH requirements go by whatever your total tattoo stats are shown when you hover over the top left corner of the menu. So yes, the bonus stats from engraving will count toward meeting KH needs. That was part of the publisher’s intention with this addition.

  2. any idea when this is all happening ?

    • September 26th

  3. If the tattoo engraving does count to knighthood
We will see a lot of newly knighted players in a month
    Or 2

    • It does count toward kh

  4. It looks like the key to how useful this will be is based on how many crystals we can get in the new and improved OC. Looking forward to seeing the details on that one!

  5. Im sry, but i have read it all twice. This system works like Smelting. So, one thing is use henna for tattoos other is use the stones. Bonus atribute. Not tattoo lvl up.
    Unless im mistaken.

    • The engraving stones are only for percentage stat bonuses; they can’t be used to cleanse and increase your base tattoo stats.

  6. Can you change your bonus tattoo if you do not get the one you like? Or is it permanent?

    • Yes, you can using stones. You have the danger of losing stars as you do that unless you spend balens.

    • It’s randomized each time you engrave with the stones.

      • If a slot is fully engraved but is not an attribute type that your toon uses, can you engrave again with stones and change it (like when you use henna)?

  7. Takes a lot of balens to get the Talents to lvl 50. And it looks like it takes 1500 outland crystals to get a stone. Doesn’t seem like anyone is going to be tattoo engraving very soon except really big cashers, and they probably have KH. Don’t know how this is going to help anyone get KH any sooner, unless I am totally misreading how this works.

    • That is legendary talents to lvl 50 – takes exp and gold only. The crystal cost is a lot, but you can also get stones in other ways in outland.

  8. im hopeing for some data on how often you can expect to succeed and fail.

  9. 1500 outland crystals and it gave me a 5% charisma boost. My charisma went from -10900 to -10400. So basically was a waste of time, and as usual I got screwed by wartune.

  10. Can anyone tell me if you can go back to 0 stars? Or is 1 star (5%) the minimum?

  11. Is there a chance to fail the very first time you engrave? I have done it twice now and it still shows 100% success rate without using any balens.

    • normally no as it is 100%, but they also count change of attribute as success and/or holding on same level

  12. Another money grab by Wartunes. And the cost is outrageous. Almost comparable to a dual sylph cost. Only people with more money that brains can afford this

    • Harry it is no problem to criticize when it is accurate, we must try to be fair and in this case it is also possible for free players to get these stones and already many free players have “some” boosts running. Of course cashers will have A LOT more, which is normal and fair as they are spending real money.
So this Tattoo Engraving is not one of those cases where free players cannot at all do anything.
      Just trying to be fair,

  13. lol 90% chance of success my butt , enriched second badge up to lv 7 stars next 3 enrichments knocked it down to lv 3 what a load a dog turds and stil not the engraving i wanted , thats like about 30 0r more wasted stones , to get back to a lv 3 lmao

  14. hey, is any one can help im slow player , i stuck in class advance ,cant pass it what do I need to pass it.

  15. Is there any way to get Tattoo Engraving Stones besides Outland Shop?

    • free way? not yet, that’s the only way currently (the Shop + fighting the Goblin which can be done 2 times per day with some luck)
